Prize giving ceremony of Inter school essay competition
3.00 pm, 14 March, Mines Exhibition Centre

An essay competition entitled “What My Pet Means To Me and My Family” will be carried out in 8 primary schools in the Klang valley in February for a total of 1,000 children aged 10-12. Fabulous prizes including CASH to be won!

A prize giving ceremony officiated by a representative from the Department of Education will be held to award the winners. One of the highlights of the afternoon will be a stage presentation by the children and their pets on “What My Pet Can Do”, which should provide lots of fun and entertainment.

This will be followed by a tour of the pet expo, expected to be the grandest event to hit the pet industry here, featuring a mini petting zoo, rabbit ranch, wildlife display by Zoo Negara, exotic parrot aviary, ornamental fish display, pet shows and competitions.

Seminar and Workshop on Canine Behaviour & Training
22 & 23 March, YWCA, Kuala Lumpur

We organised two seminars on this subject with Terry Ryan (the first in Sequim, USA) both of which participants found informative and helpful. Ms Ryan is a well-known authority on animal behaviour and a highly respected animal trainer, also author of several books and publications on the human-animal bond.

This year's seminar will cover topics such as Understanding canine ‘language’, Building the bond through mere understanding of your pet's behaviour, Phobia of dogs, How to avoid mishaps with animals, and will include motivational training demos.

It would be beneficial to pet owners and would-be pet owners, trainers, breeders, veterinarians, veterinary students, those involved in the handling of animals and anyone interested to learn more about canine behaviour and training.

Registration forms are on the way – please register early as seats are limited.
