Visit To An Ostrich Park, We organised a trip to an ostrich park and petting zoo in July for the five primary schools under our pet education program. As the response from the children was really good, we had to make three separate visits to cater for the numbers. The Pet Century Ostrich Park in Klang houses a variety of animals, to name a few - racoons, camels, crocodiles, iguanas, colourful birds, small horses, giant tortoises and, of course, ostriches. It also has the facilities of a petting zoo which made it an ideal place for the children to mingle and interact with animals. The children especially enjoyed petting and feeding the goats, monkeys, ducks and different species of rabbits and were most excited at being able to hold the pythons while having their pictures taken. The highlights of the park's tour were undoubtedly the ostrich rides which had the children queuing up for more, and 'longkang fishing', a competition to catch the most feeding fish. During the tour, the children were also given an educational account of the animals such as their characteristics, origins and feeding habits, by the park guides. And at the end of it, there was a treat in store for all in the form of McDonald's chicken burgers, courtesy of MacFood Services Sdn. Bhd. The company is supporting the school program by generously sponsoring refreshments for the children. Following the trip, the children will write an essay on their experience at the park. |
