Greetings from Cooldog,

Dear members,.This newsletter will keep you informed of what's happening on our school program, also our involvement in a spaying campaign. One item I would like to highlight is a seminar we are organising in August on "Human-animal interaction-the Bond" in conjunction with the Veterinary Association of Malaysia (VAM) Congress and the Federation of Asian Veterinary Associations (FAVA) Congress which Malaysia is hosting this year.

We are specially inviting speakers from among the delegates who will be coming here from all over Asia, to enlighten us on the benefits of human-animal interaction and animal therapy for various rehabilitative situations in hospitals, orphanages, centres for the disabled and prisons. Topics range from a "Dr. Dog" program to application of the human-animal bond in education, welfare and medicine, to coping with grief from the loss/death of a pet.

Our target audience will be staff of welfare homes, school teachers, relevant govt departments - police and prisons, several non govt organisations and the public. The seminar promises to be very informative and applicable to all - for pet owners, those involved in taking care of the sick, the disabled and the elderly or for anyone interested to know more about the physical and psychological benefits of pet therapy and interaction with pets.
