Awareness / Educational Programme in Schools International Year of Volunteers If A Dog Had Been Your Teacher |
AWARENESS / EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME IN SCHOOLS, The patron and chairman had a discussion with the Hon. Minister of Education, Y.B. Tan Sri Dato' Musa b. Mohamed, regarding an animal welfare awareness programme for schools that would include pet care education and setting up of pet clubs. The main objective is to help children feel confident and comfortable around animals and to stimulate their appreciation for different kinds of pets. A follow-up meeting was held with the Students Affairs Department, Ministry of Education on 5 October 2000. To initiate this program a pet club would be formed in a few selected schools. |
