Caring for Your Sick Dog

The following information is intended only as a general guideline for the care of a dog already under veterinary treatment. If your dog is ill you should always contact your vet first.

Vomiting and diarrhoea
This is a common minor problem, and can follow changes of diet, scavenging and feeding left over food. Changing to a new food should be done gradually. [Read more]

Pet Care Tips

  • If your cat enjoys milk, try giving it sheep's milk instead of cow's milk, as they cannot digest the high milk sugar in cow's milk.
  • It seems not only dogs can be trained. Cats can be trained to obey simple commands, like sit, stay, fetch and heel. You may need to use a suitable training method for it. [Read more]

 

Dog Bite Prevention

  • Be careful not to tease or disturb a dog even if it is behind a gate or fence.
  • It is better not to go near dogs that are chained up.
  • If you come across a stray dog or one without its owner present, you should not try to touch or pat it.
  • If a dog comes near you and starts barking, stand very still and be very quiet. Look away from the dog and do not run or scream. [Read more]
